Drowning In Notebooks.... Yay!!

Hello, my imaginary readers! It's me. Again. I've decided to share my writing. Only because I know there are no readers. This story I'm writing is called 'Magic and Other Mythical Goodies' it's uber boring, but that's why I'm sharing it with you imaginary people. Wait, let me just fill you in on my day...

I friends, Joseph and Angelica, came over and we walked to this park about a half mile from my house. We go there a lot. It was Isaac, Eric, Angelica, Joseph and I. There was an extremely sweaty guy playing Basketball at the little Basketball court. After about 20 minutes, my mom drove up and toke us home. We then went into my Uncle's pool (My Uncle is out of town and we can use the pool whenever we want) and played a tremendous game of Marco, Polo. Except, instead of shouting Polo, I shouted "Marco!" and "Pablo!' When we were about to play Volleyball, my mom and I had to go to this 20th anniversary of her friend's skin care place. It was really fun and they had good cake. Lol. I suggest the place. I got a buffering there a few weeks ago, my first. It's called EZ Skin care and Wellness Center West Palm Beach, but that's only if you live in the area.

Anyway, my writing!!! I've been working on it a lot lately. I think it's about 2 chapters. Here I go...

Magic and Other Mythical Goodies, (Warning: Some use of cursing is in this!)

So, it's not amazing. But, whatever.

Do you ever feel like everyone you know is demanding things? Like, you're the only one that does anything? Yeah, I feel like that. A lot, actually.

My name is Meredith Twinkle. I just turned 18 years old and I'm a Senior in high-school. "Mer, will you please tell Frizzy to stop?" My younger brother, Drew asks, motioning to our little sister, Fiona. I don't know how it started, but we've called her Frizzy since she was 5. She's 8 now.

"Drew, what is she doing?" I ask, poking my head in his bedroom that I was walking by. Drew is 13 and pretty annoying. And also, the messiest human alive. There's dirty clothes, notebooks and a bunch of junk on his floor. Fiona is sitting on Drew, punching his arm. "God grief."

I walk in and tare her off him. "Stop!!" She screeches, trying to pounce him again. Good thing I'm holding her back. "He broke my Barbie and stole my crayons!!"

OK, I can believe the Barbie breaking, but, crayon theft? "Yeah, I broke your Barbie. You left it on the stairs and I tripped on it, smarty. But why would I want your stupid crayons?" Drew says, smirking.

Fiona tries to attack him, but I continue to hold her back. "YES YOU DID!!! STOP LYING!!" She screeches.

"Frizzy, I don't think he did. And it was an accident breaking your Barbie. Come on, you have to get ready for school, anyway." I start leading her out of the room, and she follows. Once she's in her room, I go to talk to Drew. "Drew, did you, like, take her crayons to piss her off?" I ask, stepping over a pair of underwear on the floor. Ew.

He rolls his eyes. "No. She probably stuffed them in her teddy bear or something again."

"Whatever. Get ready for school." I walk out of his room, dodging the underwear once more. I get back into my room and finish my hair. I grab my backpack and go downstairs. "Drew, Frizzy, I'm leaving now. You can walk or I'll drive you!" I shout up the stairs. They race each other down the stairs, almost falling. My parents are on a second honeymoon. I made them do it. They hate leaving us, but I decided they needed this and I could boss the siblings around. Ha.

We all go outside and they both try for the front seat of my Cherry Red PT Cruiser. It was my 16th birthday present that I begged my parents for. "Mer, Drew won't let me in the front!" Fiona cries, attempting to squirm into the seat.

"Frizzy, sit in the back. You know I don't like you in the front!" My parents always let her in the front. They left Saturday evening and this is my first day getting Drew and Fiona to and from school. I might strangle them if my parents decide to spend longer than the 2 weeks they planned. They went to Hawaii. My dad, Lionel, is a CEO at Rossweld Inc. and we have a pretty decent life.

Drew smirks and climbs in next to me. "Thank you, Meredith." He says proudly.

Fiona gives me an evil glare, sticks her tongue out, climbs into the backseat and slams the door. "You must hate me." She says sadly.

I look back at her, frowning. "I love you, boo. It's just I want you to be safe." I say and smile. She brightens up a little and I turn my attention back to backing out of the driveway.

A few minutes later, I drop Fiona off at her Elementary school. She smiles and says, "Love you! Bye, Mer. Die, Drew." Before I can scold her for being rude, she dashes out of the car and to a group of her friends.

"Wow, she's bitchy." Drew says.

I glare at him then drive out of the parking lot. "Drew, she's 8. Don't act like a Jackass, ok? She's our sister." I say. Drew and I have an understanding with our parents where we can curse as much as we want, when Fiona isn't around.

"I should just... Turn her into a fish!" He says. That's the thing about our family. This is shocking, I think. We're Witches. Well, Drew and my dad are Warlocks, but whatever.

I shake my head. "Hell no. No magic while mom and dad are away. That was the most important rule. So, no fish." I say, pulling into Drew's Middle school. Our schools are all in a one mile radius, so it works out.

"Whatever. I'll do what I want." He says and climbs out of the car before I can answer.

I sigh and drive the block to my school.

When I get into school, my friend, Heather Monroe, is standing next to my locker, chewing on a lock of her hair. I walk up to her. She springs at me. "Oh, thank god, Mer! I need your help, like, now." She states.

I raise my eyebrow. "What is it now, Heather?" I ask, putting in my locker combination.

She comes closer and whispers in my ear. "My period! Machine is broken!" That's just like Heather. The machines in our bathrooms are always broken. We have the same cycle, so she always bums pads off of me.

"Ugh, ok. I have one in my backpack. Meet me in the bathroom." She smiles and goes to the bathroom. I put my English homework in my locker and grab my French book. I go to the bathroom and Heather is in the handy-cap stall. "Here." I fling the pad over the door and start to walk away.

"Thank you!" She squeals.

"Your welcome!" I quickly walk to my French class and take a seat in the front.

"Hey, Mer." Josh Williams says, sitting next to me.

I smile brightly. "Hey, Josh!" I say cheerfully. I'm completely in love with Josh. I have been since I saw him eating an apple when I was seven. It was love at first sight. For me. Josh is my friend, but he completely forgets I'm a girl. All the time.

"So, how were the siblings? It must be hard getting them to school." He asks.

I sigh dramatically. "Oh, it was horrible! Frizzy was attacking Drew because he broke her Barbie and then they fought over the front seat and now they are both mad at me. But, I love them."

Josh chuckles. "Wow. Need any help?" Josh basically thinks off me as 'one of the guys'. I may act a little tom-boyish, but, that doesn't mean I don't have feelings!

"Sure, if you want. Why did I make my parents go on vacation???" I whine.

We go through the rest of French. My mom is Italian and my dad is German. I learned how to speak Italian and German. I like different cultures, ok? Now, I'm learning to speak French so my languages are evened out. And no, I don't always get A's. Sometimes I get A minuses. I get out of class and go to my English class, after grabbing my homework.

A few classes later, it's lunch. Heather is waiting by the cafeteria door for me. Heather and I have been best friends since we were 4 years old. She's like my sister. "Hey, Heather. I'm so hungry! I didn't eat breakfast. Oh, shit, I forgot to get Drew and Frizzy breakfast! Wait, never mind. Drew made eggs."

She looks at me like I'm insane. "You're insane." well, I guess she thinks I'm insane. Eh, I think she's insane, too. We go into the cafeteria and grab some lunch from the lunch line. We sit at the table we usually at. We're not particularly popular, but we have a close knit group of friends. It's been that way since elementary school. Josh and our other friend, Timmy Richard's, sit down across the table, slamming their asses into the seats.

"Yo." Timmy says. He has always been a man of few words. It works out well, considering his not-so smart mind.

"Hey, guys." I say.

Jessie Trio, our other friend, comes over to the table. "Did you guys see the hot new girl?" He says. I roll my eyes. Not even a hello.

Josh grins. "Yeah. She was hot." He says. Ugh, competition.

"Krista Little was her name, right? I think she was sitting with the cheerleaders." Jessie says, looking around the cafeteria. He finally sits down next to Heather.

This has been our group for so long. If one of us, which is never me, dates someone, they join our group until they break up. It's how it's been for 10 years and it's not changing. "Heather, do you want to sleep over tonight?" I ask. She grins.

"Yes!" She narrows her eyes. "Shit, wait, is this just some sort of way to get me to help you with Fiona and Drew?" Heather is my only friend who still calls Fiona FIona.

"You already said yes! No backing out!" I state.

"Bitch, I do what I want." She says and bobs her head.

I laugh. "Ok. Sorry."

"I could sleep over." Jessie jokes and raises his eyebrows repeatedly. Jessie is the most inappropriate person I know. But, that's why the rest of us love him.

"Shut up, bitch." I say. We all laugh.

"So, did Drew want me to come over?" Josh asks as we're heading to our Biology class. Josh has basically become Drew's older brother, sense my dad is always at work.

"Probably. Come over after school, ok?" I say.

"Yep. No problem."

I go through my next 3 classes and race out of school. I don't know what I'm doing after graduation. I applied to 8 colleges and got into all of them. But, the one I really want to go to, the one my parents know nothing about, is an art school in New York. I love to draw and write and I couldn't believe I actually got accepted. We live in boring, haystack filled Tennessee. It's not where I belong.

I drive up to Drew's Middle school and he's waiting outside. "Hey, Mer. Sorry for blowing up on you earlier. I know I'm not supposed to do magic while mom and dad are away. And I can never turn Frizzy into a fish." He says, climbing into the front seat.

I'm a bit stunned. He never apologias to me. Never. "Oh, umm, It's ok. And Josh is coming over after we get home." I explain.

He smiles. "Awesome! I have to show him this rare Pokemon card I got!"

I shake my head. Drew is into Pokemon, but not as into it as me. I have an extensive collection of Pokemon cards. Shit, I get Japanese ones shipped from Japan. "Oh, ok." But, Drew doesn't know about my Pokemon problem. None of my friends know about my Pokemon obsessions. Not even Heather.

I drive up to Fiona's elementary school. "Ok, I'll be right back. Stay in the car." I tell Drew.

He rolls his eyes. "I know, Mer. I do this everyday with mom."

I get out of the car and go into the building with Fiona's aftercare program whatever. "Hi, um, I'm FIona Twinkle's sister. Here's my ID." I hand my drivers licensee to the the aftercare lady, she takes it and looks through a little box for my permission thing.

A few minutes later, Fiona comes running down a hallway. "I'm sorry, Mer. I shouldn't be mean to you." She says as she approaches me. She leans in for a whisper. "And Nick said he doesn't like mean girls!"

I chuckle. Nick is Fiona's crush. She tries to impress him all the time. "It's ok, Frizzy. And I hope Nick likes you!" I say as we make our way out of the building. When we get to the car, Drew has some random heavy metal station on.

"Ugh, turn it off, Drew!!!" Fiona yells over the music, slapping down into the backseat.

When I pull into my driveway, Josh is already there.  I guess we toke longer than I thought. "Josh, you gotta see this card!" Drew says, running out of the car, forgetting his backpack.

I groan and pick it up for him as Fiona grabs my keys and makes a dash for the house. She stops mid way there. "Oh my god, Mer, we have to get my Halloween costume!!!" She shouts as she makes her way back to me. Shit. Halloween is on Saturday.

"Oh, I forgot about that. We'll go tomorrow, ok?"

"No! All my friends were getting their costumes TODAY!" She whines.

"Ugh, ok. Josh, can you stay here with Drew while I take Frizzy to the mall?" I ask as they start to head inside.

"Yeah, sure." He responses, distracted.

Fiona and I get back in the car. "So, what kind of costume do you want, Frizzy?"

"Umm.... A Unicorn!" Wow, how original. "But, can we get a real Unicorn horn?"

I stop the car have way out the driveway. "No! We can not. "

She pouts and we continue to the mall.

Half an hour later, we pull back into the driveway with the Unicorn costume in tow. Fiona makes a run for the door. I finally grab my keys and backpack and go inside with her. Drew and Josh are sitting at the table having a Pokemon battle.

"Josh, look at my Halloween costume!" Fiona screeches, shoving the costume bag in his face.

"Wow, that's really cool, Frizzy!" He says, examining the bag. Josh, and no one for that matter, knows we're Witches. There have been a few times where he or Heather almost found out, but I always find out a way to hide it.

"Mer, I think I finally figured out what you are." Josh says later when we're sitting in my bedroom doing homework.

My head springs up. He doesn't know I'm a Witch... Right? "Umm, what am I exactly?"

He chuckles. "An insane Penguin!" He says.

I laugh. Thank God.

"So, did you meet Krista?" Head spring again.

"What? Oh, umm, no." I say.

"Hmm. She's pretty nice."

"Wanna sleep over? Maybe you could help me make breakfast, because I almost forgot to give them food this morning." I ask. Josh sleeps over all the time. Just... Not always when my parents are out of town.

"Huh? Oh, sure." Josh lives 2 streets away.

"I actually did forget to feed them... Drew made eggs or something..." I say, hanging my head in shame. He laughs. "It's not funny! I could get in trouble!"

"Meeeerrrrreeeedddiiiiittttthhhh!!!!" Fiona screeches, running into my room.

I cover my ears. "What??? Is there a fire? What's happening?" I asked, confused.

She giggles. "I'm hungry."

I glare at her. I should turn her into a fish. Or just give her gills. "Frizzy, you scared me half to death. I'll make macaroni, ok?"

She grins. "Sorry. And yyyaaaayyy!!!" She leaves.

"well, wanna help me make Macaroni?" I ask Josh.

He grins. "Yep. I shall make the cheese extra cheesy!!" He adds an evil laugh for effect.
